The Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons
How To Build A Giant Skeleton Puppet

Step III: Bones

About bones: Think about what you're wearing and how much of your bones will actually show.

Bamboo for arms.

White and black spray paint.

Duct tape joints. Or drill holes and use bailing wire.

Catrina Puppet's duct tape joints have held for 3 years. And she lives on the porch. It is super self-adhesive, wrap smart.

Cardboard tube for collar bone.

Ribs.

Ribs attached with wire, tape and glue. Your head goes under the ribs, where the bit of tulle masking is.

The neck wires stick in a brace in the head. The head can be removable for transport in small cars.

Cardboard tube fingers glued to hand pad.

Wrap up fingers in masking tape. Masking tape forms a kind of creepy texture and stays flexible and takes paint. Bend the fingers how you like them.

Attach hand to wrist with a bit of glue and duct tape. Spray paint duct tape and hands.

Pipe insulation pads your shoulders. Clip the tomato cage wires so you can get in there. Bend or cinch to fit you best. It is fun to make it so that anyone can wear it. You'll get a kick out of seeing someone else run around in your puppet!
