BeltLine Lantern Parade 2011
The Krewe was honored to be part of Art on the BeltLine 2011 with our Lantern Parade.
The Krewe was honored to be part of Art on the BeltLine 2010 with our first Lantern Parade. Our aim was to make 100 lanterns in 4 community workshops. We gave a shout out for folks to make their own lanterns and published a Lantern Idea Library. 500 people turned out to walk 2.7 miles along the east side corridor, the most that had been on the BeltLine to date. This parade was mentioned in Atlanta Magazine's Best of 2010 Issue, see it here. The Krewe did a second Lantern Parade for the closing of Art on the BeltLine, 300 people walked with lanterns from Reynoldstown to the BeltLine's Sommerset stage and ended the evening with a performance by the Back Pockets. This parade was covered by WABE and listed in their Best of 2011. www.publicbroadcasting.net
