Gnome March World Record
Saturday, April 28 2012
Line-up at 1pm at Edgewood & Krog |

Slideshow |
The Gnomes began marching in the Inman Park Festival Parade in 2007 to bring attention to Gnome Issues. Gnomes have a lot of issues: Gnomophobia, dandelion genocide, legalizing weeds, kidnapping, etc. In 2009, we attempted a Gnome March World Record. 108 Gnome signatures were earnestly verified by Julia Stedman and Amy Carter. The Guinness Book of World Records denied the Gnomes' claim, stating that the Gnome March was not an "established competition". There are THREE Guinness approved Leprechaun records with no apparent challengers. The Gnomes accuse Guinness of Leprechaun bias. We stake claim to the Gnome March World Record and name Sweetwater as our authenticating brewery and the Euclid Avenue Yacht Club as Gnome March World Headquarters. We challenge ourselves and the known Gnome world to break our record annually. Get a pointy red hat, overalls, make a sign with your Gnome Issue, and come play! |

Skeleton Krewe March
L5P Halloween Parade
Saturday, October 22, 2011 |

Giant Skeleton Project |
In 2008, the Krewe proudly received a grant from the Fulton County Arts Council to build 50 giant skeleton puppets in community art workshops to help raise the creative bar of the L5P Halloween Parade. We've held a Skeleton building workshop every year and published an on-line How-To. We know of 85 giant skeleton puppets in the city of Atlanta and one in Puerto Rico. Building a giant skeleton puppet is not a small thing. You should probably start now! Make your bones!
Line-up at 3 at the L5P Community Center. Skeletons march behind the Seed & Feed Marching Abominables. |
